Office scene

Lights up on the kitchen at my office. Enter ME with empty coffee mug to put in the dishwasher. At table stands NANCY, talking to MONA and JUDY:

MONA
Did you say there's a shoe sale at Barney's?

NANCY
Yes! I'm going this afternoon! They're' serving free cocktails and appetizers, too!

JUDY
Are you serious?! What time?

NANCY
Five o'clock! Wanna come?

MONA & JUDY
OhmyGodYES!

They exit effervescently. I close the dishwasher and silently begin to wash my hands. DON enters.

DON
So, shoe sale at Barney's, huh?

ME
Yup. Free booze too.

DON
Good for them.

Fin.

Is there anything that cannot be sold with free alcohol? Fork lifts and maternity wear, perhaps. PerHAPS.

Also: What economic crisis?

I'll stick with Carl's Booze and Shoes. All my favorite loafers are there.

So, what kind of booze sells an economic crisis? It's not really a wine sort of event. Beer isn't really going to get you where you need to be either. I'm thinking that Vodka, pure and un-mixed , is probably the safest bet. Or maybe that dirt-flavored plum schnapps that my boss keeps bringing back from Germany?
